My Yoga teacher training

I’m excited to announce that I am now a qualified yoga instructor. I’ve completed my 200h training with Chi Kri which was definitely the right choice for me. The Chi Kri training focuses on spiritual development, metaphysics and discovering our purpose in life. There is some asana but as Chi Kri founder Neil Patel says, there are plenty of great asana teachers out there so this course is designed to focus on the bigger (spiritual) side of yoga which has become lost as the “yoga industry” has grown.

Recapping my journey in education this feels the most emotionally significant to me. As I progressed through school, moving from GCSEs to A-Levels and then to university, I was narrowing my breath of study and beginning to shape my future. When I received the results for my Bachelors degree in International Management with German, I was overjoyed. That joy was surpassed a few years later when I completed my Masters in Japanese.

But completing this training in yoga whilst in my 40s brings with it a whole new level of emotion. My earlier academic path was calculated and intended to shape my future road. This on the other hand was from the heart. It was something that I wanted to do and something I did for myself. There is really something to be said for midlife studying, when we can connect with lifelong interests or newborn desires.

I would like to extend a big thank you to the Chi Kri team for taking us on this journey; Neil, Vicky, Karupa, Wendy & Mina. You have opened the door to this magical world of yoga. Finally, congratulations to all the other trainees on the course - looking forward to seeing your teaching journeys develop.
