Feeling awful after your yoga class?

My friends, stay with me on this one…

A lot of comments go round after class, which go something like this…

“I had the best sleep after last night’s class”

“I feel refreshed & revitalised after yoga”

“That class was just what I needed”

But what if the class didn’t go like that?

And you feel AWFUL after class?

If this happens don’t be immediately alarmed…

Why does this happen?

Yoga goes much deeper than just a physical work out. It allows us to connect with ourselves internally & connects us to our behavioural patterns

Our behavioural patterns are constantly evolving. We inherit some at birth from the karma of previous lifetimes. Others are formed during our lifetime based on our actions & experiences. This last word EXPERIENCES is very important, as in life not all experiences are positive. What we experience which is negative may manifest itself inside our body embedding itself as TRAUMA

Through yoga, there is the possibility to stir this trauma, to wake it up. When we do, we confront these uncomfortable experiences. This may cause pain. This is why we might feel AWFUL

This feeling of ‘feeling awful’ is temporary. If we allow ourselves to feel & experience the pain, we begin the process of releasing the pain - releasing the trauma

Our world is made up of duality. Hot would not exist without cold. If there was no cold, how would we know what hot feels like? And it’s the same with PAIN. When we allow ourselves to experience the pain, once trauma is released, we are able to experience joy. Without knowing pain, how are we to know joy?

I am sure most of your experience with yoga will overall be positive. But it is important to be aware of all the possibilities & all the outcomes because yoga is much more than just a physical workout. It is a process for you to UNITE with yourself; your PURE SOUL. To get there, you need to navigate all the traffic inside your body - and that traffic will include trauma

Happy practicing and enjoy the journey
